In this position you will provide full-spectrum Systems Engineering Support to USAF Sensors Open System Architecture (SOSA) within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.
Essential Job Functions:
Apply the principles, criteria, and procedures of the DoD to include DoD 5000.01 and DoD 5000.02 as well as the policies and processes of USAF, HQ AFMC, AFLCMC Engineering Directorate, ISR & SOF Directorate and Division level to all AFLCMC/WIN engineering tasks
Assist with the technical management of the Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) technology development that will provide the warfighter and Intelligence Community with an effective means of developing common set of Open Architecture Standards for ISR/SOF
Apply knowledge and experience with hardware development, systems engineering, requirements, and national, theater, tactical SIGINT/GEOINT, and intelligence systems, methods, and practices
Assist in the review of existing electrical/mechanical/system standards for Open Architecture systems such as SAE SPIE turret/POD mounted physical mounting, connectors, and wiring solutions to develop a common physical/mechanical/electrical pinout/cabling interface standardization proposal to the Electrical/Mechanical working group
Assist in the review of existing solutions, including AgilePOD, LightningPOD, CondorPOD for MQ-9, and others
Interface with industry and standards developers to ensure compatibility and harmonization of existing standards and regulations/policy
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university, plus a minimum of twelve years of experience is required.
An active SECRET clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) adjudicated within the previous five calendar years is required on the first day of employment.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
A minimum of 4 years of your total experience must have been performed on DoD programs/projects.
Experience and degree requirements must be in a field relevant to their functional area.
This position requires data gathering, analysis and entry, logical and systematic application of SIGINT/GEOINT systems engineering knowledge in an acquisition environment, and use of applicable automated systems.
Experience managing advanced technology sensor projects and the development of sensor components and mounting systems, to include integration on manned or unmanned air vehicles in areas such as integrated subsystem controls, avionics, communications/data link integration, and electrical power integration.
Experience translating DoD user requirements into system requirements which will be used by the weapon system contractor to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.
Familiarity with multiple intelligence disciplines to include, but not limited to: Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Imagery Intelligence (IMINT), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Hyperspectral Imaging, and Sense and Avoid (SAA) Systems.
Experience with US Air Force sensor programs for manned and unmanned aircraft.
