The 53 EWG is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The mission of the 53 EWG is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages performance of SQL database(s). Configures and maintains database(s) and associated servers to fix potential issues and optimize operations. Troubleshoots and resolves database problems.
Works with users to identify database requirements. Assists users with access to multiple databases and helps solve data confliction/usage problems.
Hardens and secures database in accordance with DoD and Air Force regulation/policy. Ensures security through access controls, backups and other technologies while maintaining efficiency of IT infrastructure.
Assists with operation of unit-specific client systems. Installs and configures software/hardware on individual workstations. Assists clients in setting up individual accounts and troubleshooting issues.
Works as a member of IT and cybersecurity team supporting diverse customer needs.
May include other duties and responsibilities as required.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
A High School Diploma or GED plus 10 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree plus 7 years of experience, a Bachelors Degree plus 5 years of experience or a Masters Degree plus 4 years of experience in an IT-related field.
Current DOD Secret clearance (updated within 6 years) is required.
DoD 8570 IAM Level I certification (Security+) is required.
Experience using tools and/or technologies listed below:
- SQL Server 2012/2016 Enterprise or Standard Edition

- SQL Server Analysis Services
- SQL Server Reporting Services
- Oracle Database 10g/11g/12c
- Oracle Virtual Server
- Relational Data Base design
- Multiple current Microsoft technologies
Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Highly motivated with the ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
One or more of the following certifications preferred:
- MCSA SQL Server 2012/2014 or 2016 Database Administrator
- MySQL Database Administrator
- Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate
- Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional
Knowledge of general computer infrastructure and associated fields, such as hardware, networking, storage, and virtualization.
Knowledge of DISA STIG requirements.
