Senior Database Administrator - Full-time - Farmington Hills, MI

Job Description

Peer Solutions Group has been retained by one of its clients to source a Salesforce Developer for a full-time employment. Visa sponsorship is not available. Please apply only if you are interested in a full-time opportunity. Responsibilities:

  • Perform the installation and configuration of new databases; patch, monitor and upgrade existing databases
  • Design, implement and maintain database security
  • Collaborate with development teams on database architecture best practices
  • Resolve database performance issues
  • Communicate complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, simple and understandable way
  • Write clear documentation around reoccurring processes
  • Provide accurate resource and capacity planning
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery plans for all databases
  • Act as the technical resource as it relates to all things database
  • Provide after-hours support when necessary

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise and Infrastructure technologies and systems
  • Passion to work and develop within Enterprise technology
  • SQL Server 2012 or higher database administration and management
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of data management principals
  • Experience administering mission-critical transactional and decision support databases, snapshots as a backup / restore strategy, and ETL application support
  • Familiarity with data warehouse architectures
  • On-site attendance

Preferred:

  • Experience in managing Windows servers a plus
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and NoSQL technologies
  • MCDBA certification
  • BS or BA degree in computer science or information technology
  • SSAS and SSRS administration experience
  • Familiarity with data encryption technologies
