Job Description:

• The client is seeking a Senior Java/Fuse Software Developer for the Baltimore location.
• The Senior Java/Fuse Software Developer is an accomplished technical leader, proactive customer-focused advocate, a team player with substantial software engineering experience.
• The candidate will provide hands-on experience with enterprise software development, integration, implementation, test automation, and SOA/Microservice architecture to a cross-functional software development team.
• The candidate must have a working knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and the ability to document, communicate, mentor peers, and implement the design patterns they utilize.
• The ideal candidate will have a good foundation with Java, JEE platform, Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, Spring Framework, Microservice architecture, REST, DevOps, USDS Plays, and basic SQL/Data Modelling. The candidate must demonstrate a willingness to learn new innovative technologies, research & author expert recommendations in whitepapers, and overcome technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• The candidate will play a key role in enhancing modern applications or modernizing legacy applications leveraging cloud computing, DevOps, or Big Data technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, code, and implement a next-generation web application using software engineering best practices in the latest technologies:
• API development (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, Microservice architecture)
• Spring Framework (Boot, REST, Security, Data)
• DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, SonarQube, UrbanCode)
• Middleware Integration (Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel)
• Provide software expertise in one or more of these areas: Java application integration, Java enterprise services, Microservice architecture/service oriented architectures (SOA), security, business process management/business rules processing, user experience (UX) and accessibility (Section 508/WCAG/USDS Web Standards)
• Develop Fuse / Camel / Spring Boot routes to satisfy customer requirements.
• Migrate existing routes from Fuse on standalone servers to Fuse on OpenShift / Platform as a Service environment.
• Investigate and repair application defects regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling).
• Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for the audience
• All other duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• Master's or Doctorate's degree may substitute for the required experience
• 7+ years of experience with full lifecycle development
• 7+ years of experience with Java systems/application analysis & design
• 4+ years of combined experience SOA/Microservice architecture/RESTful web service
• Experience in an Agile development team, preferably Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

• Skills Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of Java EE, Java generics and concurrent programming.
• Excellent knowledge of Spring Framework (Boot, REST, Security, Data)
• Excellent knowledge of middleware integration frameworks (Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel)
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration design patterns & best practices.
• Solid experience with automated unit testing, TDD, BDD, and associated technologies (Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium, ReadyAPI)
• Solid experience with application container development
• Basic knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle), SQL, and ORM technologies (Hibernate, Spring JDBC, JPA)
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, JSP, CSS)

Desired Skills:

• In-depth knowledge modern development environment
• Preferred experience with API development & monitoring tools (Postman, Swagger, Splunk, Dynatrace)
• Preferred experience with delivery (CI/CD) best practices
• Preferred experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes
• Preferred experience with AWS cloud technologies or other cloud platforms
• Preferred experience with building responsive UIs with modern front end technologies (Angular, React, Node, Typescript, Bootstrap)
