Purpose of Job
Creates and leads world-class software organization in the flawless execution of product development for software systems, development, and validation for use in automotive embedded instrument cluster and HUD micro controller systems. Leads the vision, strategy and direction for the software organization for Instrument Clusters and HUD based research and software-related product design and development efforts from concept through product launch.

•Develops SW eng. org. with focus on optimal efficiency through highly-capable employees, effective and efficient processes, and an effective org. structure.
•Selects, completes agreements, and manages outside resources to support product dev. and lower overall dev. costs.
•Contributes to the team’s mission of flawless launches through operational excellence.
•Oversees planning, organizing, controlling of and leading of multiple projects for design and dev. of products; responsible for all activities through the product realization cycle including software systems, dev., and verification for products.
•Monitors and ensures quality SW products are delivered on time and under budget. 2.25%
•Creates objectives for SW org.; develops, monitors, documents, and ensures that key engineering cost and productivity metrics are achieved.
•Leads teams of SW dev. teams to create requirements, design embedded SW solutions aligned customer and internal requirements, and achieving high-quality and on time releases leading to flawless launches.
•Sets direction of SW dev. and verification within org. for reusability and commonality and best practices for software dev. and verification.
•Determines key goals and obj., reviews, tracks monthly key performance indicator (KPI) reports and amends actions as appropriate; focuses on the timely achievement of these goals and obj. 3.15%
•Contributes to the dev. of AutoSAR, ASPICE, ISO26262, customer and internally driven initiatives.
•Acts as main escalation path for customer/internal concerns and guides teams to workable solutions.
•Ensures quality gate system and design processes are adhered to.
•Ensures eng. dev. is within budget and meeting project milestones.
•Identifies areas of process deficiency and continuous improvement efforts. 4.10%
•Facilitates discussions between external/internal teams; escalates issues that impact business. Acts as top of escalation path for SW Eng.
•Provides leadership during RFQ activities including time plans, risk analysis, new tech. proposals, and cost reduction ideas.
•Dev./supports eng. presentations for program specific tech. solutions and present to the OEM customer(s). 5.10%
•Develops and tracks program and overall dept. budgets for SW org. for production programs, pursuits, and advanced SW projects including labor, capex, and expenses.
•Leads generation and implementation of cost savings ideas. 6.10%

•Actively investigates tech. improvements and opportunities for developing new business or expanding current product line.
Education, Experience and Knowledge
Required and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary.EducationBS degree in Electrical or Comp. Eng.; Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
•Exp. demonstrating eff. leadership, directly/in-directly, for multi-disciplinary teams is required.
•Extensive and eff. Eng. leadership exp. in Automotive or Tier 1.
•In-depth knowledge of the of product development lifecycle including requirements mgmt., dev., test, product release and sustaining engineering.
•In depth understanding of SW dev. best practices (Scrum), dev. and verification methods and tools, and standards including but not limited to AutoSAR, ISO26262, ASPICE/CMMI, and automated SW verification.
•Experience in the dev. of engineering business plans, schedules, resource allocation, developing / managing technical performance measures and quantifying progress through the use of metrics.
•Extensive SW design and dev. capabilities in the automotive field; instrument panel cluster and HUD design exp. a plus.
•Exp. in analyzing processes and creating and implementing process improvements.
•Proven commitment to achieving customer (internal and external) satisfaction, takes ownership of the design issues, works with others to address any unresolved design issues pertaining to customers.
