Software Engineer

Job Description

Our client is a leader in the parts distribution space. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Software Engineer/Technical Developer. This is a highly technical as well as an architecture position that blends software programming with a technical mixture of understanding operating systems, application integration, databases, & integration. This role will also be responsible for having significant technical expertise for designing, developing, & installing software solutions to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities:
Execute full life-cycle software development
Write well designed, testable, efficient code
Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
Create documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
Document and maintain software functionality
Tailor and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Proven working experience in Software Engineering
At least a BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• Hands on experience in designing interactive applications
Extensive knowledge of object oriented programming (preferred C#, C , or C; .Net, integration tools and web tools)
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies
Experience working in Unix/Linux environments (HP UX is a plus)
Knowledge of Data Communications (Sockets) is a plus
