Our client is looking to add one Software Engineer to their team to support the USPS. This client has extensive experience with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and has provided years of development and project management. This Engineer will be focused on advancing the productivity of the USPS automation equipment and developing new systems. Our client is expanding their business into other government and commercial markets, specifically focusing on the following areas: U.S. Postal service operations technology, education and non-profits, industrial/heating and AC. They provide business and custom software services including website and database server applications.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
This person day will primarily consist of coding for the web and application portion of the mail sorting machine monitoring system. This work currently is a combination of patches to fix current code issues and upgrades of new features to the system. Since they are sitting onsite at the USPS Engineering facility they will also have to interact with the customer to define the required changes.
-Must have B.S. in Computer Science or engineering related degree
-Must be able to read/speak/write for non-technical audience
-2+ years of C++ or C# programming experience on both Windows/Unix OS
-Experience Integrating rational databases (SQL, Oracle)
-Must be eligible for a US Secret Clearance (Will obtain a Public Trust once on the team)
-Programming and debugging experience in C#
-Web based programming skills, preferably Python scripting experience
-Experience programming with PHP and interfacing with the backend
Work Environment: This is a business casual environment and is 'team-driven'. This is a small scale company and the President is very hands-on with people throughout the entire company. The team will be a mix of entry-senior developer.
