Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES:

Excellent opportunity for a software engineering position on the Training Systems Models Software team. This position supports maintenance and software development for TS Engineering models in support of NASA's Johnson Space Center International Space Station, Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100, and Orion programs.

Responsibilities:

  • The applicant will work in developing TS Models for the Environment and Life Support (ECLSS) area handling the development of System Models using GUNNS (General Use Nodal Networks) environment and Flight Software Integration
  • The applicant will work in a team environment and will be responsible for software design, implementation, testing, and user support after the release of the software, and support to the user community.
  • Candidate will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsible for the solution of complex total system problems.

Job Requirements

DESIRED EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • B.S degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field is required.

DESIRED SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • UNIX or Linux skills are required.
  • Object Oriented programming skills required.
  • The candidate must have excellent programing skills with C, C++, and Java and be experienced with developing and testing software.
  • Familiarity with supporting software development projects using Object Oriented programming; and knowledge of software development using agile practices.
  • Applicant must possess good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Knowledge of software development using agile practices and scrum methodology is a plus.
  • The candidate must be adaptable to learning and applying new skills quickly.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
