The Supplier Quality Engineer will conduct supplier capability audits, capacity studies, quality audits, certification, and issue resolution to attain the best possible products for development and production. In this assignment the Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure communication and implementation of NS International and end Customer Requirements by acting as a teacher/mentor and project liaison to the supplier. Responsible for supplier monitoring based on NS International and customer specific requirements. Lead supplier escalation and continual quality improvement activities for all components and processes through the use of tools such as CAPA, DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing, VAVE, Six Sigma, DFMEAs and PFMEAs. Overall, this individual has the responsibility to ensure supplier contractual commitments, analyze engineering specifications, design changes, and other data to plan parts support from the conceptual stage through end of production.

•Function as the Supplier Program Manager coordinating and managing supplier development activities (APQP) interfacing/communicating to the NS International Team as the voice of the supplier for new program launches, product and process changes post SOP
•Provide problem resolution due to supplier development delays, supplier monitoring and escalation requirements
•Communicate and ensure implementation/adherence at supplier location of all Customer and NS International specific requirements
•Perform supplier audits in accordance with NS International supplier development and monitoring process
•Responsible to create, develop and ensure implementation of Supplier Quality processes/procedures
Required and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary.
•Bachelor’s Degree, with a tech or engineering degree preferred or equivalent experience
•Three to five years’ experience in the supplier development, supplier quality function, or product engineering preferred
•Working experience in project management and the automotive industry
•Working knowledge of automotive core tools PPAP/APQP, MSA, SPC, CPLAN, FMEA
•Experience in executing product, process and system audits
•Experience in performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems
•Knowledge and experience in control plan development, product print and specification understanding, (understanding of Geometric Tolerancing).
•Experienced in working with Quality Engineering principles and statistical analysis.
•Experienced with use of various statistical tools and software packages for mathematical analysis.
•Ability to analyze capacity (OEE) to identify system constraints and eliminate them
•Strong computer literacy skills, communication skills, verbal, written, and technical presentations
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to successfully coordinate, complete multiple tasks within/across departments to meet established and changing deadlines
•Strong knowledge of manufacturing, assembly processes and advanced measuring techniques
•Strong knowledge of IATF16949 Quality Standards
•Assignments require a good working knowledge of procedures, operating methods and managerial practices mainly related to purchasing, quality, and manufacturing
•Knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain concepts and their applications
Special Training or Competency
•Observation, understanding, and execution of applicable company ISO/IATF certification standards related to the role and impact on the overall organization.
•IATF 16949: 2016 Supplier Auditor Certification required
•VDA 6.3 Process Auditor Certification preferred
•Completed minimum of 10 external system or process audits within the last year

40% domestic and 10% international
