Top Skills Required
1. Minimum 3 years in IT (Targeting 3-5 years of experience)
2. System Administration experience (Linux, Windows or ESX/VMware - all 3 are preferred, but if strong with 1 that is OK)
3. HP Hardware Experience (know your way around HP hardware, difference between Generation 9 and Generation 10, how to onboard NIC cards, how to add RAM to a system)
We are looking for a System Admin to be a part of the Next Generation Data Center Lab Hosting team. The main responsibility of this team is to run and maintain the Lab that emulates the 2 new data centers that are being built. This lab can be configured to replicate both NGDC 1 and NGDC 2. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring that internal customers (Linux, Windows, ESX/VMware mainly) have their environments set up accordingly when they come to the lab to test out a new tech. So, a typical scenario would be that one of these teams wants to test how a new tool will operate in the Data Center, so this candidate (along with other team members) will set up the infrastructure for customers to do their tests. Once the infrastructure is set up and the lab is ready, the actual customer will take over and run their proof of concept tests. In order to do this job efficiently, this candidate must have basic system administration skills within operating systems and hardware. Specifically, Linux, Windows, VMware and HP Hardware. It is imperative that this candidate is a 'self-starter' and very eager to learn and grow in this environment.
The supervisor of this team demands a lot out of his team and will expect high energy and quality work. They are willing to train candidates on the newer technology that they will be dealing with, but the candidate must be willing to learn daily and willing to provide suggestions to improve processes.
