Solutions Point is recruiting for a System Operations Lead role for a good client of our located in Kansas City, Mo. (Near 95th and Stateline Rd).

JOB SUMMARY:

The System Operations Lead‘s primary responsibility is to lead a team of System Administrators and DBAs that are responsible for the availability, performance, and support of the core line of business environment.  This position includes three main components:

•        Manage the team’s daily operational tasks and projects by monitoring workloads, assigning resources and assessing how new functionality will impact the overall system.

•        Act as an individual contributor to assist the team in the daily workload; with the ability to cover on-call shifts as needed. Act as the initial point of supervisory escalation for on-call staff.

•        SME of all core line of business environment systems

This position helps to manage the department that is responsible for providing second-tier support for all systems in the core line of business environment. The department is also responsible for after-hours support of those same systems.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•        Supervision and delegation of various tasks related to operational support in the core line of business environment

•        Responsible for incident management, response, and post-mortem reporting

•        Point of contact for all business units requiring assistance or information related to the company environment.

•        Responsible for providing second-tier support for all systems.

•        Responsible for the supervision of system upgrades, configuration and deployment of company technologies.

•        Responsible for appropriate coverage of monitoring systems and reporting of availability and performance trends.

•        Understand impact of SSAE-18 and PCI requirements and how it relates to this position, including maintaining compliance with both policies and procedures.

•        Responsible for creation and maintenance of systems policies and procedures - deployments, databases, applications, systems, operations, etc.

•        Maintain the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans, and the Business Impact Assessment for the Company.

•        Assist InfoSec team during system audits and manage remediation work requested based on any findings

•        Miscellaneous tasks assigned by manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

This work requires specialized knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through attaining a four year college degree in a technology-related field. Minimum Qualification: Any combination equivalent to four (4) years of college-level course work in database development/management, network engineering, network administration, system administration or computer science and three (3) years of relevant work experience in a database administrator or system administrator role. This position also requires at least three (3) years of experience supporting real-time transactional systems in a customer-facing environment. A strong understanding of relational database concepts, experience in application support, and knowledge of data security standards  (e.g. PCI-DSS, COBIT, COSO, ISO/IEC 27002) is also required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

o   Must Have:

o   Microsoft Windows Server 2012+, .NET application support, Microsoft SQL Server 2012+

o   Strong knowledge of processing systems (.NET) and relational databases (SQL Server), specifically related to configuration management and performance

o   Ability to read, write and understand code for various Microsoft technologies (Powershell, C#, etc)

o   Experience deploying and troubleshooting complex applications, hardware and software in a transactional processing environment

o   Perform detail-oriented work accurately with frequent interruptions.

o   General understanding of application, server and network security

o   Ability to lead, scope, and drive projects forward by managing timelines and team members. 

o   Communicate and work effectively with others.

o   Work independently with minimal supervision.

o   Mentor and train others under their direct report.

o   Preferred:

o   Management or Team Lead experience, with the ability to lead and drive projects by establishing timelines and holding team members accountable

o   Knowledge and experience working within a Level 1 PCI compliant environment

o   Experience within the Finance Industry

o   Experience working with vendors to define company needs, review technical specs of hardware/software, negotiate pricing, etc.

o   Experience building and managing an Azure tenant for hosting transactional systems
