Job Title: Sr. Desktop Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6 months with the option to extend

 

Summary:

The successful candidate will be a mature self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment. This person needs to be able to resolve conflict within a short period of time. This person will be intellectually curious, intuitive, trustworthy, and have the highest ethical standards. In addition, he/she will be effective addressing a number of internal and external audiences in a professional manner. This person will add value by working on a number of simultaneous tasks with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through.

The Team is an adaptive, innovative and resilient team of system engineers providing 24/7/365 monitoring and support. This position will be charged with troubleshooting and monitoring enterprise systems environment as well as developing tools used to monitor the environment.  In addition, you will provide hardware, software and connectivity technical support and administration to all internal users globally.  

Job Requirements

Responsibilities / Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting all things hardware, software, mobility & networking.
  • Monitoring the global infrastructure systems for issues & problems as they arise (including servers, networking, storage, site and job scheduling.).
  • Experience in Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, MS Exchange & TCP/IP in addition to VDI or Citrix
  • Develop tools to proactively monitor as well as maintain and optimize current tools
  • Experience with messaging platforms, A/V and collaboration tools.
  • Troubleshooting issues as they arise as well as escalation to 2nd and 3rd level support personnel as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with monitoring systems
  • Knowledge in Linux, Windows or Cisco
  • Ability to provide white glove service
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent organizational, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and teamwork skills
  • Programming knowledge in Python is a major plus
  • Financial Services experience is nice to have
  • College Degree in CS or MIS
  • Flexible schedule
