Systems Analyst (PIM)

Job Description

NGK Spark Plugs is now hiring for a level 2 Systems Analyst to oversee our STIBO Product Information Management System (PIMS). This position will sit in our corporate offices in Wixom, MI. It is a newly created role that will work with our SAP ERP Business Analysts while reporting to our Enterprise Manager. NGK is a global tier 1 supplier specializing in ignition products supplying to major automotive OEM/Aftermarket/Cutting Tools customers.


Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelors or higher degree preferred in Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience of more than 10 years
  • STIBO Certification or eligibility for Certification
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience on PIMS implementation
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience implementing and supporting software systems
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in STIBO STEP systems configuration and development
  • Expert knowledge on STIBO Step implementation – which includes; Configuration of Stibo STEP, Stibo STEP portal, STEP Workflows and Business Rules, STEPXML and Integration Endpoint
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data management
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Strong understanding of pattern matching and regular expressions and capabilities in Java, JavaScript, XML, XSD, JSON, and SQL
  • Hands on experience with SOAP and/or RESTful web services
  • Ability to work in both Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Good experience with version control systems
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization, planning and administration.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Excel required, proficiency in other MS Office software
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and, if applicable, all company policies relating to IATF- 16949 and ISO14000.

Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Function as the in house subject matter expert for the PIM solution
  • Support the Business units in drafting the technical requirement and design document, and develop the solution to create a single source of truth via the MDM solutions
  • Serve as a strong PIM technical lead in managing the activities such as; Attribute creation, Attribute Groups, Objects, Hierarchies and Classifications, Business rule creation, Web UI development, Integration endpoint
  • configurations, References (product to classification, product to product, classification to classification), Workflows, Data Exports and Imports, Auto Classification
  • Accountable for code quality, development of reusable components, product performance and adhere to achieve best practices
  • Provide guidance on end-to-end cycle of PIM implementation
  • Analyze business processes to find system-based solutions, develop technical terms for system enhancements and assist in preparing test scenarios, end-user documentation, and business process procedures.
  • Contribute to ongoing system improvement efforts including collecting requirements from business users, researching available solutions, and developing and documenting conceptual design alternatives
  • Follow the NGK SDLC methodology when performing developmental work to be consistent with the project requirements & deliverables
