Systems Engineer – Modular Active Protection Systems
As a Systems Engineer with DCS Corporation supporting US Army GVSC Modular Active Protection System (MAPS) program, you will support the development of MAPS system architecture and required systems engineering “V” process. Activities include direct customer support, system modeling, generating system level design requirements, and producing system architecture work products necessary for the program. You will be responsible supporting the System Architecture working group and also looked upon to further improve processes yielding improved quality and efficiency.
Essential Job Functions:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS in Engineering related field and eight years experience
Systems Engineering background
Basic knowledge of SysML modeling language
Understanding of basic system architecture work products including block diagrams, interface diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams
Ability to work independently on a system level design concepts with minimal oversight from other team members
Ability to convey a design concept to a larger team and defend design decisions when challenged
Experience with drawing tools such as Microsoft Visio
Understanding of system level vehicle networking design principles such as data bandwidth, throughput, determinism, etc.
Ability to quickly break-down complex engineering tasks and identify a solution approach
Strong communication and organizational skills
BS Electrical, Computer, Software, Systems Engineering
10+ years experience in systems engineering
Experience with the MagicDraw modeling tool suite
Ground combat vehicle electrical system design experience
Understanding of best SysML modeling principles and an ability to provide guidance for future model enhancement
Familiarity with ground combat vehicle system safety design best practices
Familiarity with structured decision making processes
