Purpose of Job
Creates and leads a world-class team of systems engineers in the flawless execution of product development. Creates and reinforces a culture of high performance, leadership, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and teamwork. This team’s primary responsibility is ensuring specifications are analyzed and product designs meet customer/project requirements as well as owning the overall technical specification traceability and systems test delivery. Other responsibilities of this role include supporting new business quotes and creation of detailed robust platform specifications.

•Lead team in the flawless execution of programs including monitoring program status and providing guidance as appropriate to ensure programs meet all deliverables on time with high quality.
•Reviews and approves system engineering work products to ensure quality.
•Directly support programs and acts as escalation path as required. 2.20%
•Develops team; assesses direct reports’ skills/tools in relation to job expectations. Plans and coordinates training regimen for direct reports to ensure they have adequate skills/tools to have successful programs.
•Conducts regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports.
•Establishes goals for department, allocates goals to direct reports and monitors progress, and ensures alignment of goals for all associates within the department.
•Evaluates training gaps for direct reports, jointly develops plan to address gaps, and provides training and mentoring as needed, and ensures the same is done for the team within the department. 3.10%
•Develops and executes jointly with the department leadership a comprehensive vision and strategy to continuously improve program launches while taking into consideration the technical, schedule, and resource constraints – using new tools and technologies.
•Develops KPIs to measure results of the strategy; gathers and tracks the KPIs, and adjust the strategy as needed to continuously improve capability and cost-effectiveness. 4.10%

•Determines resources, equipment, and investment needed to support anticipated activities.
•Creates headcount, investment, and expense budges for the team, tracking costs against program budgets, and takes appropriate action for budget variances.
•Creates and/or reviews and approves Engineering quotations (effort, cost, schedule) for new business and change requests. Team Management / Leading Others
•Provide supervision, guidance, leadership, and training to members within your team.
•Monitor and evaluate the performance.
•Train team members on policies and procedures and create and maintain a set of current forms and approval procedures.
•Establish goals for team and conduct reviews.

Education, Experience and Knowledge
Required and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary.Education
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or computer science engineering; Master’s degree pref.Related Experience
•7+ years' experience demostrating effective Systems/Engineering leadership, directly or in-directly, for multi-disciplinary teams is required.
•Proven track record of successful launches or automotive products, with a comprehensive knowledge of product development practicies in a Tier 1 automotive company.
•Excellent customer interface and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical systems in simple terms.; controlled under significant pressure.
•Ability to lead a systems team that encompasses requirements and systems validation.
•Comprehensive knowledge and ability to clearly communicate in English (verbal and written); Japanese a plus.
•Strong cross-functional (software, electronics, mechanical) technical knowledge in product desgin and requirements management for HMI or related products.
•Experience demonstrating effective leadership, directly or indirectly, for multi-disciplinary teams.
•Experience in analyzing logs of in-vehicle communication networks such as CAN, LIN, MOST, Ethernet, etc.; software and electronics background preferred.
•Working knowledge of ASPICE/CMMI, Cybersecurity, and Functional Safety
•Experience with, working knowledge of software develop for embedded systems
•Working knowledge of automotive requirement management tools (i.e. Doors, PTC Integrity, etc.). Special Training or Competency
