Tactical Mobility and Wireless Mission Systems (TacMO) Integrated Product Team (IPT) is seeking an Electrical Engineer (BSEE) or Aerospace Engineer to support product development and integration activities.
Essential Job Functions:
The scope of the TacMo IPT is product and acquisition management for the tactical application of mobile information systems; wireless data transport technologies and infrastructure; systems engineering; mobile secure software development; and mobile and embedded systems security. The TacMo IPT consists of Science and Engineering (S&E) personnel and Specialists/Analysts in supporting roles (Information Assurance, Information Technology, cybersecurity, and configuration/data management). The incumbent will support TacMo products and deliverables in pursuit of furthering technology insertion initiatives involving wireless and commercial mobile technologies in a tactically relevant environment with the ultimate objective of delivering accredited capabilities to the fleet.
Support TacMo product development and integration activities.
Communicate and interface with hardware and software engineering teams, project team lead(s), and Chief Engineer on technical and program elements.
Support project planning activities.
Provide support in determining program roadmap activities.
Support system engineering process definition activities.
Analyze the system to determine impact of proposed enhancements and modifications.
Create and analyze product Problem Reports that clearly specify the problem and propose solution(s).
Support project meetings and data calls (daily, weekly, as scheduled).
Generate progress and status metrics for submission to project lead(s) and Chief Engineer (weekly, monthly).
Participate in design and readiness reviews for TacMo products and services.
Support program reviews and milestone reviews by creating briefing charts and/or briefing of the technical elements (as scheduled).
Reduce/decompose high-level requirements into lower-level requirements and engineering proto-types and solutions.
Define and refine project system requirements and document in requirements specifications and requirements databases (e.g., DOORS®, Sparx EA Toolset).
Develop product specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICD), design documents, and lower-level requirement specifications, at times interfacing with private industry vendors and/or contractors.
Develop and maintain analytical tools necessary to evaluate requirements adherence.
Perform system and product test planning and execution.
Create test plans, test procedures, and resulting test reports for product unit test and integration test.
Develop test procedures with traceability to the system requirements to ensure full system functionality testing and produce associated Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM).
Execute test procedures during various test phases of the product lifecycle.
Support system and product installation during platform test events or demonstrations.
Create user's manuals, fleet introduction briefs, and training materials in support of fleet introduction of TacMo products. Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline plus 2 years of relevant experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for continued employment.
Familiarity with current wireless technologies and protocols.
Experience with IC circuit boards, printed circuit board development.
Familiarity with Radio Interface Layer (RIL) for telecom products.
Familiarity with System on Chip (SoC) hardware and architecture.
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Familiarity with Atlassion tools including Jira and Confluence.
Working knowledge of DoD guidelines for encryption and security requirements for Data in Motion.
Previous experience with DoD command control and communication systems.
Excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively (written/oral).
