Technical Lead / Architect

Job Description


The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting build-versus-buy research in collaboration with the product manager, as well as collecting requirements and providing technical strategy, architecture and other technical documentation. The role also includes assessing the feasibility of UX designs, working with Product and UX team members to define user and application interactions.

  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Responsible for scalable, reusable, highly available architecture that conforms to security, performance and other standards provided
    • Contributes hands-on to code, storage and middleware implementations
    • Monitors technical team's progress, identifies risks and impediments, and works with the team to implement corrective actions
    • Provides architectural blueprints and technical leadership to project and other cross-functional teams
    • Defines and enforces robust software development standards by reviewing code and implementing third-party code-scanning and performance testing tools within the Development Operations (Dev Ops) pipeline
    • Translates business requirements and user stories into technical tasks, assigns them accordingly, and communicates with development and other team members to ensure requirements are understood
    • Responsible for defining and enforcing code versioning, unit tests and other automated-testing standards
    • Resolves technical team conflicts and develops a culture of collaboration and productivity
    • Supports or acts as 'scrum master,' leading daily standups, sprint-planning sessions, sprint reviews and sprint demos
    • Defines and implement Dev Ops processes
    • Evaluates and recommends tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest-quality product platform
    • Collaborates with peer organizations, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions
    • Troubleshoots systems and code-level problems quickly and efficiently
  • Education/Certifications
    • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline
    • Advanced degree preferred
  • Basic Qualifications
    • Eight-plus years of experience designing and building software solutions
    • Experience with HTML/JavaScript frameworks
    • Proven experience leading software development teams in large, cross-functional organizations
    • Strong OO programming skills in languages such as .Net core and/or Java
    • Experience with various SQL and NoSQL data stores
    • Strong knowledge of SQL language
    • Experience deploying and running applications in cloud IaaS and PaaS environments
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience working with offshore teams
    • Strong understanding of Dev Ops best practices
