Located in Itasca, Chicago, this position will work across both the sales and engineering organizations. Directly engage with our customers to help them understand CANON MACHINE VISION EQUIPMENT as well as for installation and troubleshooting machine vision solutions to improve their manufacturing process.
¢ Launch automated solutions with supervisors guidance. The targeted solutions will involve many types of automation systems including robotics, controls systems and vision systems.
¢ Responsible for set up, calibration, testing, maintenance of Canon 3D machine vision equipment in the field.
¢ Assist in the installation of equipment at customers' sites. Refer serious or complicated repair problems to senior level technicians.
¢ Provide technical support to prospective and current customers, remote and on site.
¢ Help the team develop machine vision and image processing hardware and software by sharing customers feedback
¢ Help prepare and provide training and seminars to prospective and current customers.
¢ Provide compatibility testing
¢ Conduct basic competitor research
¢ Associates degree or equivalent experience required, Bachelor degree preferred, preferably in Robotics Engineering, with 2-3 years of experience.
¢ Familiarity with integrating, debugging, trouble shooting and basic programing of Fanuc or other major industrial or collaborative robot based factory automation.
¢ Familiarity with C++, Java, Python, Fanuc KAREL, Fanuc Robostudio and other robotic languages.
¢ Requires familiarity with robotics, robotic guidance system and related software.
¢ Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
¢ This job may require up to 60% travel and requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job and must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
