Tier 1 Technical Support

Job Description

Top 3 Skills:

  1. This person needs to have excellent customer service skills. This person will be the face of IT because they will interact with Directors, Students, and Faculty as they are the first line of defense when there is a problem. This person needs to have excellent communication and professionalism.
  2. 80% of this person day will be spend doing break/fix on inventory and asset management using Solarwinds Web Help desk. This could be on Student of faculty Machines. 1+ years of experience loading and imaging Windows machines, installing printers, working with a ticketing system like Solarwinds, Office 365, End User Support, & Browser Support. This person should be used to handling 5-10 tickets per day.
  3. 20% of this person day would be 3rd party app support, or minor Active Directory support. 3rd party apps may include Mediastie, Zoom, Teams, Foxit, Adobe, or Connectwise Automate. This person may be required to use small amount Active Directory, experience is not a requirement but would be a plus. There may be some down time in between tickets so person much be okay with that.

Job Description: Our customer is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to manage their face to face interactions at their Virginia campus. This person will be handling walk-in's and scheduled hardware maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: Nice to Haves: Android or Apple Support, Active Directory, on Testing days may be required to apply minor commands, but they will teach all of that on-job.
