This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

This position is a key role in the Advanced Surgery Production Expansion Project. Primary focus will be on implementing capacity expansion project and process support work for the Advanced Surgery Production Expansion. The role will provide engineering support for a facility expansion project to add a new manufacturing space which includes - construction of new warehouse space, new manufacturing cleanrooms, new manufacturing equipment, new distilled water loop, new HVAC, new compressed air, and new electrical service. It also includes all applicable monitoring and controls systems for the new construction. Cross-functional project management will be involved in this role as well. Project start date was July 2019 and target end date is Dec 2020. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Support Integrators and Software Developers in developing Functional Specifications, Software Design Specifications, Data Base and Graphics for process controls and BMS.
Review integrator progress in delivering Functional Specifications (FS), Software Design Specifications (SDS), Data Base, and Graphic User Interface screens.
Review and approve integrator and developer deliverables.
Coordinate with IT to ensure process and BMS hardware are integrated within the client's infrastructure.
Supervise design and installation of hardware for process controls and BMS.
Review design of communication protocols and cabling.
Troubleshoot software and hardware installation and validation issues.
Assist in start-up of process utilities, general utilities and IT upgrades to existing infrastructure.
Ensure design and installation documentation (as-builts) are current and reflect situation in the field. Collect and maintain vendor's operating manuals and mechanical catalogs for equipment and process controls/ building automation systems.
Interface with plant and corporate groups as well as contractors and vendors.
Support start-up, debug, and commission of new manufacturing processes.
Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
Perform validation maintenance reviews of process and utility systems.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Responsible for adhering to FDA Design Control standards at all times.
Responsible for adhering to all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, log books. Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Engineering Required (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Automation degrees are preferred)
5 years Engineering / Manufacturing experience. FDA manufacturing preferred.
Programming/troubleshooting experience with BMS, HVAC, PLCs, automation controls and HMIs.
Display a solid understanding of PLCs, HMI software and electrical systems.
Must have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interface with personnel of all levels.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
Must be able to work in controlled environment requiring special gowning.
Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification or industry standard equivalent is a plus.
Project Management skills and experience are a plus.
Lean Manufacturing skills and experience are a plus.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime work, including nights and weekends, as needed to support project activities.
