Position: Supplier Quality Engineer
A leader in the HVAC industry is looking for a supplier quality engineer to come in and use statistical techniques to improve processes, solve issues and develop quality systems for an OEM located on-site. Candidates will need to be responsive, build quality relationships all-the-while maintaining and upholding the quality standards put forth by Carrier and the OEM they supply.
- Drive quality improvement in the factory using:
*ACE Tools (Relentless Root Cause Analysis, Mistake Proofing etc.)
*New product/process introduction
-Work with Customers to resolve issues
-Actively participate on new product development project teams
-DIVE Process (Diagnose, Investigate, Verify, Ensure)
Manage customer relationships
Prepare charts and power point presentations
Extremely proficient in excel in order to 'mine' data for given customer
Lead Root cause analysis of defective products
Ability to be professional while giving constructive feedback
Day to Day
They are the first line of defense when it comes to supplier quality issues. They have to go out to the line often if something comes up and 'put out the fire'. They will establish containment and figure out non conforming parts, while working with suppliers to resolve issues. They should be very comfortable with problem solving skills. In their down time they will work on future projects or cost savings initiatives.
